I don’t tend to think of myself as someone who is strongly influenced by products pitched on Instagram, but I recently saw some posts from Journey, a brand I had never heard of, that piqued my interest. Their ad for a Journey charger caught my eye and I thought, “I could use that.”
Journey is a 3rd party maker of mobile accessories, including wireless and multi-device chargers for iPhones, Apple Watches, AirPods and other devices that are stylish, functional and popular.
On a whim (and because it was on sale) I bought the SWIV 3-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charging Station during the 2023 holidays for $95.99 (20% off), though it retails for $119.99 regularly.
Is It Hassle Free Charging with a Journey Charger?
Journey products are designed with innovation and style in mind. Their chargers are sleek and simple but incredibly functional with a variety of desk friendly, nightstand appropriate and travel focused options.
They are aiming to be an all-in-one solution for your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, making your charging experience seamless and stylish.
As someone who travels somewhat frequently, I was getting quite tired of traveling with separate chargers for all my devices an this seemed like it could solve many of my frustrations.
The SWIV 3-in-1 is MagSafe ready and requires just one cord and can power up three of my most frequently used devices, which was a big selling point for me. Additionally, the fact that I could fold it up, put it in my backpack and be out the door was a strong push in my purchase decision.

My Journey charger sits on my nightstand most of the time, where I charge my iPhone 14 overnight and my Apple Watch for about 45 minutes each morning as I’m getting ready.
The charger itself takes up relatively little space on my nightstand and is significantly more organized than my previous setup of running separate wires for both devices individually.
Inevitably, those cords would fall to the ground, get tangled up and are a pain to travel with.

Charging Power to Fuel my Daily Life
The Journey SWIV charger has so far been pretty good in terms of power strength. While not the fastest charger out there, it certainly gets my devices ready for the day.
As I mentioned earlier, I tend to charge my phone overnight and put my Apple Watch 8 on the flippable charger in the morning for about 20-40 minutes while getting ready for the day.
This limited charge time for my watch has so far been enough to get me enough charge to last for the day and night.
I like to wear my watch at night to track my sleep, so charging for only a short period each day could limit the available battery but the SWIV charger has so far been performing well and getting me enough of a charge to last for the day.
The company says it comes with wireless phone charging capabilities of 15W/10W/7.5W (Max), which is pretty efficient and fast charging for your iPhone.

Journey on the Go
One of the main reasons I chose to purchase this particular Journey charger was the ease of charging when traveling.
The key design feature is the compact and foldable structure which allows it to slip it into your bag or pocket, and provide you with a reliable charging station wherever you are.
I frequently traveled with an iPhone charger, Apple Watch charger, and an iPad charger because of different ports which is a bit excessive. In moving to the SWIV 3-in-1, I was able to eliminate two of these and pack only this one. So far, it’s been a great companion and is super easy to toss in a backpack and head out the door.
It also makes it easier only looking for one outlet at your destination rather than needing to string charging cables across a room for all the different devices.
In my use of the Journey SWIV 3-in-1 Wireless Foldable Charging Station so far, I’ve been very pleased with the charging capabilities but also with the easy and convenience of reducing clutter and a easy travel companion.
While straightforward in its function, it’s thoughtfully designed, sleek looking on my nightstand and well-incorporated features make it a standout choice.
At $119, the price point may give some reason to pause (myself included), on sale I was willing to give it a go and I’m glad I did. I’m already looking at some of Journey’s other accessories to outfit my home office.
If you’re on the fence, my recommendation is to give Journey a chance. So far, I’m a fan!
